Having discussed this one during a lunch break with my colleagues, our opinion at Gatwick is unanimous:
If you're travelling in Club, behaving respectably, why should age matter?
It's this bl00dy Nanny State again telling us not to serve alcohol to those under 18! Heaven forbid, they might get a little tipsy!
At home in Devon, Bealine was known to have the odd flagon of cider by the time he'd reached fourteen! When you've worked all morning humping hay bales on to trailers in the fields, a flagon or two of "scrump" and you were in no pain at all!!! All the pubs in the area would serve you, cider, beer or spirits because, as the landlords used to reckon, "If you'm doing a man's job, you can drink a man's drink!"
Different times, but has life improved?
