Thanks! That's great to know. We will each have one (if not two) bags. So if we check in and check our bags with DL in the mainland, bags on the HA connection flight in Hawaii would be free.
For this reaaon we've switched our KOA-HNL tickets from HA (using DL miles) to a Southwest flight. HA charges for bags, Southwest gives 2 bags free. HA was $79 or 7500 Skymiles; Southwest $38.
