Really? It's been a while since I last flew the MD-11, but IIRC door 2L is of the overhead sliding type, i.e. it slides up into the fuselage (hence no slide in the door but in the fuselage). Can anyone else confirm this? On topic again: forget about row 5, the galley and the purser's work station are too close. Like others here said, try to score row 1 or 2, even the middle seats are great.
