SDC is limited to UA issued tickets. Award tickets present an additional issue.

Standby is an option at the connection but checked bags are an issue however with a long connection you might be able to get the bags pulled. (such as the port of entry into USA)
True SDC on non-016 ticket is outside of policy and can present a problem if their are any more flights after the second segment. There a small chance of getting a confirmed seat
