Hello,

I booked a transpacific ticket via ANA with a domestic leg on United. The layover is about 8 hours for the second flight. There is an earlier flight but according to the United search page there is no X-fare availability. If X-fare availability appears (which has been happening haphazardly on nearby dates) prior to 24-hours to check in ANA can switch me.

However, my reason for posting here in the UA forum… what happens after check-in within 24 hours? Is it possible to change to an earlier flight now that United has taken over the ticket? I don’t mind paying a fee/difference in airfare but I can’t change anything as of right now.

Does anyone know the rules or has anyone had a similar experience?
