LUV WN? What's the Most Surprising Thing They Did For You?!

Thought I share some LUV -- even though it was few years back -- as it illustrates why I still think this is a great company today!

I used to do Love-Hobby every Monday AM and return every Friday late afternoon. It was a 6 month gig and I was actually looking forward to the assignment in Houston. I started August 20, 2001...

Needless to say, it got really old and ugly three weeks later! I reached my limit in late November when the line to pass through the mag unit was snaking into the parking garage walkway on the second floor of Love... and this was the 'secret-quick way' to get in! The National Guard was telling people to remove credit cards from their pockets lest the metal in the stripe set off the machine! It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach the mag unit at 7:30 am!

So, I wrote a nice detailed letter about how I thought they could expedite the process, including helping people w/ luggage at the belt, etc. etc. I addressed it to Ms. Barrett.

About while later later I got the auto-acknowledgement letter saying it had been received and was being reviewed. About 5 weeks after that, I arrived home on a Friday to find this massive box sitting on my porch. It was from Southwest. I opened it up and inside was a two-pager, with email attachment copies, from a Sr. VP (can't recall the name now). Also in the box was a Jeep Brand TV-lantern-emergency flasher-compass-siren-strobe-radio combo-camping thing!

My thoughts -- via the VP -- had been emailed throughout those in charge of Ops at Love and Hobby and the VP was telling me how they were going to address things to get things moving better, as well as what they could not change at the moment, and this was a token for my ideas and my patience. I was stunned!

What a great airline! ^ ^

So, what's your LUV story??
