I do not agree. Yes, you will need a Master Card or VISA but acceptance of AMEX is really good by now. As said, I charge about 90% of all my spend and expenses on the AMEX. Both in Sweden and abroad (mostly Europe, UK, US). I use the AMEX as primary card and have the MC only as a backup.
Thank you, the reason I was asking about AMEX is because in Ireland, where I'm from, AMEX is next to impossible to use. But thank you for the information, I'll be sure to look it up
