Hi all - this isn't my main program so very much appreciate the help! I read a bunch of threads but am still not sure of the answer-- I had some Asia Miles that were supposed to expire last July (July 10 2020), so I booked a BA ticket for July 9 2021. I thought I was going to be able to use it, but restrictions are still in place so I can't. Asia Miles has made a number of schedule changes to the original itinerary but the flight is still active. If I call in to refund the ticket now, will I get the miles back with an additional year of time to use, or will they just go into the dustbin? Thanks v much for the help! 747
1. You couldn't possibly have miles that would expire on 10JUL2020. It was probably 31JUL2020, as miles always expire at the end of the month. If the original expiry was 31JUL2020 and you refund the ticket now, the new expiry would be 31JUL2021.
2. You couldn't possibly have booked a flight on 09JUL2021 on 10JUL2020. The flight would not have been open for reservations.
