I don't know if I have the AMEX terminology right, but I think AMEX offer an
Additional card to the primary cardholder, and
Supplementary cards to the secondary cardholders. So a charge card holder can have an additional card in his own name, and one or more supplementary cards in the names of his wife/relatives etc. The plat charge card offers an additional plat card to the primary card holder. I dont know if the plat credit card does.

Confusingly, the BA Amex website uses the term additional to describe what on the charge card would be a supplementary card.
