I saw plenty of availability on LAX-LHR in the coming months. Of course you'd need both direction and I haven't checked if the return is more difficult to find.

Is this a booking with AA miles? I would think you can change them. Though their system is a bit strange and sometimes will want to see a whole new availability.
Have you called them to try?
