To the OP, I would suggest changing your flight to make sure you arrive before the existing car reservation, not after. It should be a free change since it was caused by an airline schedule change.
I've never seen this happen.
What if your flight is delayed or you got bumped and never made your flight or luggage took an hour to show up?
