W is kind of on its own and I don't think in a preferred way. I'd prefer the LeM on Las Ramblas or just North of it in Eixample. The W is in the marina and is fine if you plan on staying in that area for a couple days. The beach that it's close to is ok. At the end of the day it's a city beach next to a Marina.
