Do car rental insurances included in US CCs work differently?
In the US, most people have their own auto insurance that covers rental cars. The majority of CC coverage will be secondary to that. So the CC will cover the deductible of the renter's personal insurance. If the renter does not have insurance it then becomes primary and will pay.
If you were to attach or link to your CC's coverage we might be able to see what it would do.
$13/day sounds about right for the full LDW.
