Thanks for the quick response and for your help! This is all very interesting--one thing that I still don't get is that you state that:

And that is consistent with what I normally see.
However, the web site states that people with this conditions should "not" be asked to remove their shoes. There seems to be some contradiction here. Am I missing something?
