I agree it will vary greatly by hotel. These days our family stays (even for a night) are mostly Homewood Suites/Staybridge Suites/Residence Inns where we can get two separate bedrooms in a single room, with an occasional Embassy Suites stay when they have a "3 room" suite configuration. But last summer we found a true 2 bedroom suite at the Hilton Garden Inn Bend and it was great. Definitely a step above most of the Embassy Suites we have stayed in the past few years, which have tended to be older properties. I am guessing a new Embassy Suites and an HGI suite would be comparable, and generally if you can find a suite at an HGI it would be nicer than a Hampton - but again read the reviews to see how new or renovated the property is?
