So I spoke to mrs miles_navigator and both of us decided it would be best to get in earlier, if possible. So I spent a few hours working the phones. Had no luck getting hold a human at Avis OGG over multiple days. Ended up calling the airlines instead to change.

We are booked flying UA metal via SQ points. Was able to change for free due to schedule change on UA's end but couldn't get an earlier SFO to OGG flight. Decided to cancel the 1 night stop over in SFO and was able to instead get EWR to OGG non-stop so re-booked on that instead. Kudos again to UA agent based out Asia for his patience on a 2 hour call and willing to do a 3 way conference call with SQ to make the changes and close it till everything was Done/Done. I was burning the SQ points since they were going to expire in 6 months so it didn't cost us extra in miles from EWR. Fortunately, my leg from NY to SFO was on Southwest and that is an easy online cancel.

Will land around 3pm HST now so hopefully that makes things better and at least I will have more patience. I will report back on this thread in about 10 days on how it went.
