So you're not really dealing with AMEX, you're dealing with Expedia. They make lots of mistakes and it's very difficult to get them fixed. To get any compensation, you'll probably have to contact AMEX Executive Customer Relations.
I don't understand this partnership (from a CS perspective) if Amex cares about the customer service that its Plat cardholders would be receiving from Expedia.
