That's funny. Early in the pandemic, rental cars on the West Coast started showing up with HI plates. When the islands had locked down hard, demand for rentals was so minimal, that apparently it was worthwhile to ship them to cities that still had demand elsewhere. And obviously this can't be done with paying customers, like the FL one-way specials. Or earlier this year, similar specials from the West Coast to the East Coast, soon followed by TX to the East Coast.
