But breakfast isn't the only "gotcha" these days. We recently ran into an issue of an airport hotel that told us when asked prior to booking our stay that they now once again offered an airport shuttle. When we got to the airport and went to the hotel they did have a shuttle -- the driver demanded $5/head (credit card only, no cash) for the ride to the airport. Another one I ran into is new parking fees in urban areas where for years parking was free as a benefit for platinum and above. This is not called out anywhere during the reservation process nor on the hotels' website. Both in DC. If you complain you get a discount on the parking rate. Even the AAA rates which used to always include free parking do not, the verbage was simply dropped from the rate description.
