Sorry. You have to go to manual check in counter anyway at least in my experience. Yes. I did send documents to Lufthansa. Their IT is simply worse a company can have. They send many generic emails which are only for German citizens! Period.

On my way to Spain, I did send documents for LH. In check in at HEL they said, yes we know this is a new way but I’ll check your documents anyway.

Connecting flight thorough Germany: be ready to show all the documents when deplaning. There will be a border control check for them. Choose a male to do that. I chose woman and they are more chance that they are rude as mine was. Women are mostly rude on that profession. Males are more friendly. Sorry. Won’t change my opinion on this due to experience at the airports.

When entering Spain they did look up my QR but wanted to see my all other documents. Either HEL agent did not send the data to the system or they just wanted to check. My spouse went through without this. We checked in at HEL in different times.

Same did go when departing from Spain via Germany to home. Good luck. They may have updated their methods now. But don’t trust LH IT system!
