I just don't need any issues if something happens, and then Amex says they didn't charge me so they aren't paying up. Even though it shows on my account that I have coverage on both cards, it stopped working in 2019 and hasn't started worked since.
Wait, when you book a rental car to your Plat Amex, you don't get charged for the rental? How do I get that to happen??
ISTR sometime in 2018 or 2019 there was a note on one of my statements saying that I now needed to enroll each of my Amex cards individually in PCRP, and they had deactivated all but the card I initially registered. Before, if you registered one, it activated on all Amex cards in your account.
By then I was already using my CSR for rental cars anyway, so it was a moot point. Though I agree that for me the increased limits aren't the main attraction of these insurance programs; their function as primary insurance is the bigger benefit.
