The exact same thing has just happened to me! After trying in vain to get a refund, I decided to change our flights to some arbitrary date rather than lose them altogether. Just to buy time really. I had heard they were not carrying paid-for luggage over so I waited in a massive queue to ask the customer service people about it in the chat function yesterday. They assured me luggage was being carried over. It looks like they have conveniently decided to increase the price of luggage as a means of recouping the cost of their "free" date change. So any baggage checked after the 8th June has suddenly doubled in price. And you can't opt to remove the checked luggage. It's pay an extra £20 per bag or lose your flight with no refund. The lengths this disgusting company will go to continually amaze me.
