A problem with this, if it really is a policy change, is that they seem to assume that all customers with status want larger or more expensive cars. I book a midsize because that's the size I want to drive. Sometimes I'd be just as happy with a compact, but the flexibility of Ultimate Choice requires booking a midsize or above. Yet often when I get to the lot, there are no midsize or smaller in my designated zone, so to get what I booked requires "stepping down" to Gold or a numbered zone.

I always appreciate receiving a newer car, but I never want the "upgrade" to a larger car.
