It doesn't matter now how your SPG tier corresponded to a Marriott Bonvoy tier at the time of the transition and program merger.

If you have Lifetime Elite status, your Marriott Bonvoy points will never expire. Otherwise, you need activity on your account to avoid having your points expire.
