I have booked (and cancelled !) so many flight recently that I am not entirely sure whether I actually took this one. However, IIRC I did but a few days before departure they moved the curtain back past row 10 even though the flight was very lightly loaded, so I lost my row10 seat. If I have got the right flight, I was sat further back, but then on boarding my Gold card was spotted and I was asked if I wanted to move forward to an exit row as they had 2 completely empty exit rows and needed someone to sit on each side of each of the 2 rows. I ended with 9D-F to myself and Club catering, so it all worked out quite well in the end. If the plane you are on has 9 and 10 as exit rows I am pretty sure it was the flight to which my question related. They only sat one person in 10D-F, but that is no indication of anything.
One thing I did note was that 10D was where one of the cabin crew stood during boarding, so perhaps they keep it free for that reason ?
