I'm DL PM and on average crews are better and pre-COVID planes were much cleaner. But being SFO-based, I recently went with UA for an F ticket SFO-OGG. In the past might have gone through LAX or SEA on DL but decided the stop wasn't worth it, especially with the ability to fly the 777 on the way back. Also DL Skypesos are awful, but with the credit card and rollover MQMs, I'm almost PM through 2023 without boarding a flight.

I also lost some love for DL when I cashed in some SkyPesos to ride the A359 DTW-LAX on my b-day, and they swapped us with a 763 and I missed a dinner in LA due to mechanical delays. Yes, can happen on any airline but if they're just going to be any airline might as well take my chances flying direct on UA.
