Seven years without a stay report - is that a record? I had a one night stay here on Thursday for an odd reason that only Flyertalkers would appreciate, I needed a generic "Hyatt" for my brand explorer challenge and these guys are very difficult to find. So when I needed a night in Chicagoland, and this one was a cat 2, I went for it. Now McD's has since moved in town so the hotel is the only active building on the campus. But I have to say, it may be the nicest cat 2 Hyatt I've stayed at. Everything in the guest rooms seemed recently renovated, absolutely massive TV. I was upgraded to a King Forest View as a Globalist. Glob breakfast is currently served for take away only from the restaurant downstairs. The egg white frittata (pictured) and coffee were pretty good, can't say the same about the accompanying toast.
Not sure if or why I'd need to come back here, having ticked the Hyatt box, but definitely a nice option if you need to be in the area. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to check out the pool/spa which looks great in the pictures. The grounds are beautiful and there is ample free parking, since you'll almost certainly have a car out here. One thing I noticed is the branding is a bit mixed, some of the older things like the desk pad still say Hyatt Lodge at McD's Campus, while publicly its been rebranded as Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook.
