I'm having to change 6 Delta One award tickets direct from ATL to HND from June 12. I can't find any award tickets for this direct flight at any future date. Cash flights are showing but every award I find out of ATL is connecting (ICH, SEA and even Mexico) which seems strange. When I search for Economy awards the direct flights show and for Delta One it shows Sold Out.
As my flights were booked with Virgin points ( I am hoping Delta would just transfer my flights to a future date) in the eventuality of getting the points back I am also checking out ANA awards and they show lots of availability but all the random dates I look for show waitlisted.
So I presume between Covid and peoples miles accounts growing over the last year there is a huge reduction in award flights.
