I asked some Sweden-residing Swedes who are 50 year olds what was going on with vaccinations for themselves and their long-time school friends. The ones living in Sweden but working in Denmark all seemed to say they were getting vaccination access faster in Copenhagen than in Skane.

Interestingly enough, one of the Swedish doctors in my family — been practicing medicine in Sweden for more than 10 years but less than 20 years — only this past weekend got vaccinated in Sweden. Not exactly sure what was up with it taking that long for a doctor getting vaccinated in Sweden, but that vaccination ended up being outside Skane too. Seems like another vaccination incident among the Swedish relatives that required the vaccine-seeker to go out of their way and follow up in order to get one or more vaccine jabs.

Also talked to a Swedish doctor working in Skane about what was going on with so-called long COVID-19 in her region. She seemed to think the incidence and risk of long COVID-19 in Sweden was borderline negligible. Not sure what to make of her response on that, but both she and her husband work for Region Skane as doctors — each in a speciality that would have touchpoints at the very least with what has come under “long COVID”. What’s the data with regard to people claiming sickness/employment-impairment benefits due to “long COVID” in Sweden?

And with it Sweden too became gray on the ECDC map for infections. Sounds like there will have to be a national numbers’ revision for the infection scene in Sweden too.
