I see that Citibank takes 2-3 days to complete a transfer of miles to Turkish. I don't see any way on the Star Alliance award booking dialog of putting a reservation on hold to get time to transfer miles?

Is it possible to put a flight on hold with a phone agent, and, if so, does that incur additional charges? Or is there some other workaround?
