I am bit baffled by this -- it would greatly surprise me if FS took any ownership in this project. The owner is apparently Paralelo 19 Desarrollos, a real estate conglomerate based in Mexico City and the resort is a complete new build and not a reflag. I have seen some pictures and while it may appear a little brutalist for my taste, I will be very curious about the finished result. Knowing Félix will be opening GM, I am very certain that service will be of the highest order, as he takes great pride in that.
Maybe you can shed some light on this, if the resort you are talking about it unrelated to FS Tamarindo or it is being built on the former site of this resort, but to my knowledge the site of FS is a natural reserve, undeveloped.
There are some similarities, but in many respects it's a new hotel. The general layout looks like before... they've updated the design and they've clearly built additional lodging. That property has been in constant development over the years and has changed hands a few times so I'm looking forward to a bit of continuity.
