When I joined in '07, we still did the hot breakfast and cold trays the rest of the day, and yes, we did indeed work our behinds off on some of the sectors to get the service out. Backside touching the jump seat seconds before the wheels touched the runway... But, you know what, it was great... I thoroughly enjoyed delivering that sort of service instead of the sandwich packs on Euro routes,

I remember, probably late '07 or early '08 I worked a GLA shuttle and we had a Thompson/Tui crew positioning and they were gobsmacked at what we were doing... I was on my hands and knees in the aisle, a row or two from the back of the A321, trying to get the last of the 1/4 trays from the bottom back of the trolly, almost half inside the blooming thing, and when I eventually reemerged from the trolly, the crew member sat by the aisle said she has never seen anything like it Meal trolly, bar trolly then tea and coffee by hand. Blooming marvellous!

I don't even bother on short flights any more... The boss does not like being rushed
