No, they shouldn't get Centurion lounge access. It's bad enough getting into the Centurion at the moment and extending access to the hordes of BAEC AMEX users would make it harder still. I pay $550 a year for my Platinum card and (a) there's talk of that going up to $695 or $745 in the near future as well as (b) no complimentary guest access unless you spend over $75k per annum on the card.

I was told yesterday at PHX that there was a 45 - 60 minute wait to get into the lounge there. Given the gradual erosion of the other perks it's going to make me reconsider whether I should be renewing my Platinum card this year.
