I think that the Finnish covid-19 rules always have had an official end date, but so far they have just moved the end date when it gets close to it, sometimes with minor changes.

Vainikkala is where the trains cross the border, but haven't all trains been cancelled? Cars cross at Vaalimaa, to the south-west of Vainikkala.
There are currently no ferries between Helsingfors and Stockholm. You have to drive to Åbo (Silja Line/Viking Line to Stockholm) or Nådendal (Finnlines along route E18 to Kapellskär) for the nearest ferry. Other than those, there's also Wasaline (Vasa-Umeå). I wonder what happens if you show up at Vaalimaa with a Swedish car+passport and a ferry booking (or with no ferry booking but with evidence of residence in Haparanda).
