That's all I can say in polite company.
Not wanting to generalize, so MANY people without kids (especially young, single people) ASSUME that a child is going to be a brat. I've had experience with other assumptions by FAs, DFW-HNL with our (then) 18 month old son:
- Me: "We need a meal for him."
FA: (Very politely) "Can you wait until we've served everybody else and make sure we have enough?"
Me: "But he has a ticket."
FA:
"Oh, I'm sorry. Here you go."
- As we're trying to get all of our carry ons situated and stowed:
FA: (Agitated) "You have too many carry ons!"
Me: "We have six; 2 for each of us." (That even INCLUDED the diaper bag.)
FA: "Does HE have a ticket?!"
ME: "Yes, he does."
FA:
Heavy, still agitated sigh...
