I’ve experienced the exact same thing on my A320 ceo NQY->LHR flight back in August last year. The touch-down was quite smooth, but then it felt like the flight crew took us on a wild ride through the runway. The turn off felt completely out of control, similar to what you’ve experienced.

At least it wasn’t me going mad, and it appears to be a common practice for one reason or another.
