How hard is "too" hard (Aircraft braking, of course)

On the BA1475 GLA-LHR yesterday, we had what I think can best be described as "energetic" braking upon landing at Heathrow. This was the first of 4 flights on a TP run to INV, with us landing on schedule on runway 09L, and braking hard several times - harder than I recall in recent memory - and exiting at A9W which is about half way along the runway. Now, at no point did i feel the aircraft was out of control, nor am i saying the braking felt dangerous, but from a passenger comfort perspective, the forces pushed/pulled me forward in my seat quite forcibly a few times in quick succession. I'm just wondering if this is a fairly common experience, because (in fairness) I've not flown much in the last few years - certainly not on BA short-haul into LHR, so I wasn't sure if the pilots try to get off at a certain point to minimize taxi, or if there is a restriction/expectation of a quick exit that is particular to LHR? This was in an A321Neo (for reference).

By comparison, the same landing on my return INV-LHR leg, same runway and existing at the same A9W exit (A320Neo this time) felt a lot more like a normal level of braking being applied.

Again, not saying that I felt there was anything unsafe - just a bit uncomfortable for us meat sacks sitting behind the cockpit, and wondered what others experiences were like.
