One way of checking whether the backend thinks these are still on the UG list is to see if you can request a new one. If it tells you you can ... then there is a problem.
I’ve got a reservation that had a change—and part of it meant losing one way of upgrades. Now the return doesn’t show waitlisted on the website, but it does on the app. And my SO’s name (who I’m upgrading) appears on the upgrade list when using the clock trick on the app. So I assume it’s okay.
Additionally, one leg that was lost was upgraded again on the outbound, but the PP weren’t withdrawn. I’m sure they’ll be withdrawn at a later date.
