I just flew LAS-CLT on an A321 with this new Oasis layout too. I was in seat 9F and was happy with that choice -- the legroom was comfortable for an MCE seat.
I don't think being in row 8 is going to be really much better than row 9. Despite how it looks in the seat map, there isn't a bulkhead between MCE and first -- just a partial wall from the ceiling to the top of the seats. That does mean passengers in row 8 will have some under-seat storage in front of them, but also those row 5 seats will recline into your space.
The new larger bins are definitely a win. It felt really strange to be on a full flight and still see lots of empty bin space when the FAs were closing up for departure.
