They have had similar in Europe, where AZ has either been banned completely, banned for the under 50s or politicians (including Merkel and Macron) who have basically said it doesn't work/it's dangerous. They have heavily relied on Pfizer/Moderna and J&J has been used but not extensively, however, as we can see, they're vaccination rates are really good with many close to having 50% of the adult population getting a first dose by now.
