I saw a guy a couple months back at the A/C in DCA order four mimosas for himself and his definitively younger and "traded up" trophy who were sitting behind me near the windows overlooking gate 36. He was complaining about this or that to the bar tender as well as about not getting comp water bottles to take on the plane (he then grudgingly purchased two bottles). Guy was being a grade-A jerk. I then got up to the line and simply asked for some milk for my rice Chex which the bar tender had to go back into the kitchen to find. Saw the folio book for the tab for Mr. Entitled's purchase and the credit card slip showed that the total came to about $70.00. He wonderfully left 0.00 as the tip.
BUT, he also did not do a total line. Somehow....not sure how....a "2" got put in front of that 0.00... No idea how that happened.
Not cool for the guy to leave no tip.
Equally not cool for you to fraudulently change his payment without his authorization. Might have made you feel good but it's not your decision to make. And as others have pointed out it could get the bartender fired.
