You'd also benefit from earning additional Avios on the value of the booking 1 Avios for every £1 spent on top of any BA Amex promotions. Also you'd still have the option to cancel for a voucher in the similar way a flight only would. Even if you don't need the car or hotel it's worthwhile pricing up the flight+car option for the smallest compact car option and then simply not bother turning up to collect the car.
