The AF-codeshare on AY HEL-CDG has been an interesting one. Though I have no official info, what I've been able to gather over the years was that it was a hard block on the seats. Meaning AF pre-bought XX seats on the AY-plane as if they were flying it themselves.
Another funny example was OZ/QF hard code-share (ICN-SYD-ICN) - in C-class QF had right hand side rows and QZ had left hand side and middle rows. When one looked at the cabin after departure, Caucasians were seating on the right and Koreans on the left and in the middle. I used to be the only non-Korean seating on the left
