What happens if I forget or intentionally leave my checked bag at the MIA airport carousel while I travel out of town for 3 days? Can I simply retrieve it with lost and found 3 days later or will it wind up at another hub airport? Will I get penalized by AA for being negligent? Has anyone done this to avoid lugging an extra bag on a short trip? I will need my bag eventually. I just don't desire to haul it with me on my first trip but if I can stage it in MIA for a few days that would help.
