Except "until Covid is well behind us" is inherently a political position and will ultimately be subject to discussion/debate within the executive branch.
And why wouldn't a major labor union seek to influence those decision makers? I mean, that's a big part of what unions do....lobby for policy on behalf of their members.
Just two weeks ago, the CDC did a hard reversal on masks for pretty much everywhere *but* transportation. I highly doubt they keep it in place for airlines until active Covid cases reach zero.
It won't be next week, but it probably won't be 2022 either. Flight attendants will be more thrilled than anyone to see the mask mandate end.
I'm trying not to go too OMNI on whether the masks are beneficial at this point, but whatever....this entire thread is borderline OMNI...
