You are right. But as others mentioned, it is an unpublished benefit. Get prepared if get declined. However, for DL Diamond, they can do co-terminal change as an unpublished benefits too. I'm very happy AS has a much more generous rule when it comes to SDC. Never tried SDS.

For my dates, my original ANC-LAX doesn't even have 2nd exit row left, ANC-SEA is middle seat of second exit row. The eventually ANC-PDX is a very nice and new 175 with very generous leg room, maybe 33 or 34 for all main? Regardless, all these routes are very full in F and PC. And the ANC-SEA seemed to be oversold.
