"Suspended" or Cancelled?
I have 4 seats on a AMS-SFO (via Dublin) round trip flight book via Aer Lingus website leaving AMS July 17th (returning 15th August).
I noticed a week ago, that the Dublin-SFO segment is not selling anymore, on their website or any other!
However, when I called Aer Lingus they sauid my flight had not been "cancelled", but was no longer available for sale.
They couldn't tell me more, but said I should keep an eye on my email for further advice.
I'm perplexed at this unusual situation. Should I assume that this Aer lingus flight is cancelled, but Aer Lingus doesn't want me to ask for a refund yet?
Will Aer Lingus reroute me with other carriers? Now that they have "left" the DUB-SFO market, AMS-SFO prices are moving higher.
Do they have a legal obligation under EU or FAA rules to compensate for higher cost flight (beyond credit card refund of purchase price)?
