I booked BCN-ATH-JMK and JMK-FCO a month ago and asked to use a voucher that was due to expire that day. The agent did it no problem, advising that there was no availability for BCN-ATH-JMK but that I would be waitlisted. The double booking is normal when you are waitlisted. If the upgrade happens eventually, the Y booking will disappear (as it happened for the JMK-FCO flight). Otherwise, the C booking will disappear.
You cannot change the flight online anymore due to this, calling is needed if you want to change the booking (since it's not a normal C booking, but an award - different booking class).
