I live in HH and MR properties at least 6 months a year. We usually alternate between the chains. Unless the credit fully covers an HGI/DT breakfast, this is a significant downgrade in benefits. We get a flat per diem and hotel breakfast makes it go much further. Sure, the argument could be made that applying it to dinner goes just as far, but we don't typically eat dinner in the hotel unless we are arriving so late that it's the only option.
