Covid Tested Flight with tight transfer

I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me since everything is changing rapidly and I can't find any good information online.

I originally booked a flight on Delta from Tampa to Cairo through FCO. The leg from FCO to Cairo is on Alitalia. Originally when I booked this 2 months ago there was no such thing as a Covid tested flight and I had a nice 4 hour layover in FCO. I was just rebooked and I am now on a Covid tested flight and I only have a 90 minute layover. I'm wondering if 90 minutes is going to be enough time?

I haven't been able to find any information on if we will need to be tested once we get off in FCO, or if we can skip the test since we are not leaving the airport.

Also, will we need to go through passport control in Italy if the flight arrives and leaves from the E Gates? I worry about the amount of time to get through passport control both ways.

Thanks for any help.
